Septic Install & Repair

New systems, full replacements, and repairs done right the first time.

Septic Install & Repair — Rock Solid Excavation, Michigan

Rock Solid Excavation installs new septic systems, handles full replacements, and repairs systems that have started to fail. We set the tank, lay out the drain field, troubleshoot what's going wrong, and replace components — all coordinated with the required permitting and inspection. A septic system lives underground through every Michigan winter, so it has to be built right and set right. Freeze, thaw, repeat — built to take it.

What We Handle

Whether you're on a new build off the main line, replacing a system that's reached the end of its life, or chasing down a problem with an existing system, we cover the full scope of septic work.

  • New septic system installs off the main line
  • Full system replacements
  • Repairs of failing systems
  • Tank installation
  • Drain field layout and installation
  • Troubleshooting and component replacement
  • Coordination with permitting and inspection

How the Work Goes

Septic work is regulated for good reason — it has to protect groundwater and work for decades. We coordinate the required permitting and inspection, set the tank at the right depth and grade, and lay out the drain field so the system handles the load and drains properly in our soils. When you're replacing or repairing, we diagnose the actual problem first so you're not paying to fix the wrong thing.

  • Permitting and inspection coordinated up front
  • Tank set at proper depth and grade
  • Drain field sized and laid out for the soil and load
  • Honest diagnosis before any repair or replacement

Installs, Replacements, and Repairs

A new install on a build needs to be planned with the rest of the site work. A full replacement means getting the failed system out and a sound one in with minimal mess. A repair starts with figuring out what's actually failing — a component, the tank, or the field — before anyone digs. John will walk the property, look at what you've got, and lay out the right path.

  • New installs planned alongside the rest of the site work
  • Replacements done with as little disruption as the site allows
  • Repairs that start with a real diagnosis, not a guess
  • A clear plan and written estimate before work begins

Built for Michigan Ground

A septic system spends its whole life underground, working through every freeze and thaw, so where and how it's set matters as much as what goes in. The tank has to sit at the right depth, and the drain field has to be laid out for the soil it's draining into — our clay-heavy ground doesn't perc the way sandy soil does, so a field that's undersized or set wrong won't keep up. We account for that from the start, sizing and placing the system for the property it's serving. Done right, it handles years of Michigan winters without becoming the problem you're calling someone else to fix.

Questions

Frequently asked

How do I know if I need a repair or a full replacement?

It depends on what's failing. Sometimes it's a single component; sometimes the tank or drain field has reached the end of its life. We diagnose the actual problem first so you're not paying for a replacement when a repair would do, or patching a system that needs replacing.

Do you handle the permits and inspection?

Yes. Septic work requires permitting and inspection, and we coordinate that as part of the job so the system is installed to code and signed off properly.

Can you install a septic system for a new build?

Yes. We install new systems off the main line, set the tank, and lay out the drain field, planned together with the rest of the site work so it all fits the property.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Fenton and serve Genesee, Oakland, Livingston, and Washtenaw County, including Flint, Grand Blanc, Linden, Holly, Hartland, Howell, Brighton, Milford, and the surrounding rural areas.
